British kids are iPod crazy
It is not just technophilic grown-ups who are iPod crazy. According to new research, British schoolchildren are just as fond of their iconic MP3 players as their parents and teachers.
A study by Halifax Home Insurance reveals that one in four British school kids takes and iPod or some other MP3 player to school.
In fact, the research suggests that alongside the traditional packed lunch and games kit, audio equipment worth over £54 million pounds is brought into the classroom every day.
Dubbed by Halifax as the i-Spod generation, 80 per cent these tech savvy schoolkids say that gadgets such as the iPod makes learning more interesting, while over half of parents (55 per cent) surveyed said they are willing to buy an iPod to help their child get better grades.
Vicky Emmott of Halifax, said: “It’s great to see that children are keen to join the i-Spod generation and gadgets like iPods are contributing to new and exciting teaching methods.
“However, as these items are high value and - due to their size - relatively easy to lose or steal, it’s important that parents ensure the correct insurance is in place to protect their children’s belongings.”
