California-based Compact Power Systems has exhibited its new disposable battery charger systems designed for use with Apple iPods.

The accessory has been designed by the manufacturing firm’s Cellboost production line and can also be used to recharge mobile phones and camcorders.

The Cellboost battery charger plugs into the iPod’s Dock Connector and can provide “several hours of additional power” to the must-have digital music players.

Cellboost’s device has been described as “compact” and “highly portable” by experts who also praised the charger’s innovative ability to energise near-powerless iPod batteries within minutes.

The Cellboost battery charger, which is designed to be disposed after being drained, has been given a May / June release date although official confirmation has not yet been offered.
