iPod dockings station a blast from the past
The latest iPod docking station, dubbed the MP5, features a valve amplifier straight from the 1940’s.
Unveiled this week by Taiwanese electronics company A-zone International, the MP5 sports a silver, wood-trimmed dock for the iPod , flanked by a matching amp with three lit-up glass valves on top.
Featuring two 50 watt speakers covered in black leather and an S-Video output, the MP5 fits all iPod models except the shuffle.
A-zone states: “The MP5 lets you browse through playlists, artists, albums, songs, genres. Besides, the backlight key can lighten your iPod screen for 30 seconds.
“This function will extend the life of your iPod screen.”
The MP5 also comes with a handy remote control so the user can control song selection and volume from across the room.
Already on sale in Germany for £485, the MP5 will soon hit Britain and the rest of Western Europe.
iPod accessories with a retro look have been proving popular lately, with SpecTone having just released the SpecTone Retro, made up to look as if it is straight from the 1950’s.
