The iPod‘s status as a popular cultural icon was cemented this week with an appearance on The Simpsons. 

“Thank God, it’s Doomsday” premiered in the US on Sunday.

In it, Homer walks past an ‘iGod’ poster which features the unmistakable image of an iPod.

The ‘iGod’ poster refers to the guerrilla ads that parodied Apple’s distinctive silhouette campaign.

A date for the UK airing of this episode is yet to be confirmed.
