Navigate with your iPod
A new service from Yahoo turns the Apple iPod from a portable media player into a map navigation tool.
iPod Directions is a free application available for internet users in America and Canada that can be downloaded onto the digital player.
It allows users to find their way by entering addresses for start points and destinations in a similar manner to Yahoo Maps.
Once the details have been typed into the site, users get a ZIP file, which when loaded onto the iPod, provides maps and instructions for the journey.
Reviewers from Oh Gizmo say the service is easy to use and so recommended it, especially given as it is free.
Though Pod Directions was tested on the iPod nano, it is designed for use on larger screens where image resolution and quality is clearer and easier to see.
iPod users in Canada and the US can download the service developed by Zap Technologies from the website now.
